Picked my cocker pup up today and I am already totally in love!!

We've called her Jazz, posh name All Jazzed Up :)


The journey home was terribly stressful :wink3:

She's fairly quiet and unsure in the house (kennel born and raised) but getting more confident in the garden! Sleeps a lot, and not a murmur from her when she's put in the create! Hope it lasts :biggrin3:

I am still fairly terrified at the prospect of raising a pup, she seems so tiny and fragile!
 
She is very lovely. When you are fed up with her, you may send her on to me. ��. I expect you will have loads of fun

She did just find her voice, very shortly after her last meal of the day. Howling the place down! Didn't want to go into her so left her till she shushed for a second and then took her straight outside where she went to the loo immediately, didn't realise it would pass through them so quickly so will be ready for it next time!
 
She's so teeny next to the big lad!!

Take her out to the garden after she wakes up, after every meal, all the time! She's gorgeous. I'm now puppy broody!
 
Its scary how tiny she is and he is such a blumin big clutz that he will walk over her given half a chance so they are only together under strict supervision!

No accidents so far, she's flat out in the cage now, loving her bed I think after having no such luxury in her kennel!

Shes been out for the toilet regually, after the meal it just caught me off guard as she had literally just finished eating before she started crying blue murder!
 
She's absolutely gorgeous. She will keep you on your toes, its like having a new baby in the house. I've had my new pup just over a week now and she is just starting to settle at night. I'm seeing a whole new character in her now she's got more confident. I like her best when she's sleepy, bless her.
 
Beautiful pup, especially love her paws and whiskers in the last pic. Your lab looks like a lovely dog, Im sure they will have lots of fun together when Jazz starts to grow. That posh name is fab by the way.
 
Lovely pup and lovely pictures. You will be fine, this is a perfect time of year to have a pup especially for the house training. I had my last one in spring time and taking her outside at regular intervals she never ever made a mistake in the house. Its good to get in a routine while they need to sleep alot. I used to take mine out, firstly in the garden and later on a short walk, then she would happily sleep in her crate while I went out for a longer walk with the older dogs. Good luck, pups are so rewarding, you'll love the whole experience.
 
She is such a time-waster, even when she's sleeping all I want to do is watch/photograph/cuddle her!! Just 3 weeks left at uni and then I can have guilt-free time wasting!!
 
Tooooo cute I want one!

Was thinking about a Cocker myself but we have a 10 yr old cat who is quite timid so not sure how she would react to a puppy? Was your cat ok with her?
 
Princess 16 - We've got 3 cats, the two girls keep their distance as are nervous of her and if cornered I have no doubt they would fight their way out. Jake the big black boy is very laid back so will tolerate a bit of puppy tumble.

I videoed them a couple of days ago,I wouldn't usually let Jazz get away with this but Sam seemed to be doing a good job of telling her off when needed!

*disclaimer - I was there to intervene if needed but Jake is very gentle and although he bats her with his paw he doesn't EVER use his claws - plus he's deaf so can't hear the barking!*

They are getting on really well but they don't seem to stop playing!! I am really worried about her over doing it too young so will limit exercise but how much is too much in the sense of playing? I don't want to have to keep putting her in her create just for a rest but if left to their own devices they would play like that ^^^ non-stop!

Also, any idea on how I can stop the over-grown lab from destroying her toys?! He is obsessed!! No problem with him paying with them but he is literally chewing them all apart which is annoying as well as dangerous (if Jazz gets hold of the bits he chews off!).

All in all I am really pleased with how she's settled. She's nearly sleeping through the night, has learnt how to sit, gives a baby paw and recall is pretty good too :D
 
I only allowed supervised playing with toys with my last puppy and his toys were then left in his crate or the others would steal them. You could look at indestructible toys, Kong Wubbas are good, plus puppy nylabones.
