I have some good photos of her on my phone but having a Friday afternoon moment and cannot seem to upload them... So here are the best I can find.

She is a poppet, a rescued poppet with an unhealthy obsession for stones which we are working hard to channel into more useful enterprises.
Her parentage is mysterious but she comes from France. Any ideas what she is?

Thanks :D
She has a bit of a funny past - she was discovered in an empty house by an estate agent when the owners had moved!! So the estate agent took her home, but having no experience of dogs, let alone big, young, unsocialised dogs was not the ideal home.
Then mum took her.
We originally thought gsd x lab, but the vet swears she is a malinois... Just interested to see what other people think really!

Yes - I'm no expert but I believe that Malinois is one of 4 types of Belgian Shepherd. Can't spell the others so not even going to try!

I wouldn't say she was a pure Malinois, her head is too broad and she has toomuch substance. My money would be on GSD x (poss lab as suggested) or, and please don't take this the wrong way, a pure GSD but not a very well bred one.

This is my old girl Saffy who I lost in September :(. Apart from the black saddle they aren't so very different in appearance are they.

I actually see no Malinois, she looks like a German shepherd cross, with maybe a retriever.

If you stick in Malinois in Google images you will see what I mean, and I see them on a weekly basis training too.

Sorry about Saffy :(
Not taken the wrong way at all! I agree she doesn't really look like the malinois I have googled - different head, and she is built like the proverbial brick outbuilding :D
Temperament wise she may well have some lab/retriever in her because although she is quite high drive, she has not an ounce of aggression and doesn't seem to be remotely territorial. The worst guard dog ever. She also loves squeaky toys and has a very soft mouth.

So perhaps german or belgian shepherd crossed with a lab/retriever type. I guess we'll never know! Either way, I'm quite smitten as is my mother who now loves the dog more than her children :(
