I'm so excited, I just got my new pup yesterday! I've always (for maybe 10 years now?) wanted a poodle-- especially since I became a dog groomer! So over the past few years I've been sort of keeping an eye out for the "right" one. I've had lots of well bred and good dogs offered, but it's never been the right timing, the right situation. And as much as I'd have loved any of the dogs offered before, this is the one that everything clicked in to place immediately.

My new pack member (to join Minpin Corki and Border Terrier Chester) is Miniature Poodle "Starene Secret Sourcerer" (grandsired by Miniarets Secret Assignment, aka Rodney).

He is 9 months old, has been incredibly sweet with my other two dogs, who have so far tolerated him...but will grow to love him. He's been really loving and cuddly with all of us and is a very bright wee boy. And smart enough to know to sook up to my hubby....who is easily won over!

He's been a brilliant pup so far - he's only been with us one night and is fitting right in. He's not too keen on being at the shop so will take some getting used to there. He's a bit anxious here, but I don't think it'll take long before he gets over that. My older two will have to show him the ropes I think.

Hmmm, I'm afraid that he's going to get a bit of a trim this week when I find a cancellation in my diary. He will be hairy, I am going to grow the coat out to show length so that I can use him in grooming comps when he gets a bit older. But I will probably put him in a T-trim (but maybe without the shaved ears/tail) or something near it.

I'm glad my hubby isn't worried about him being a "girl's" dog -- and Merlin is in love with my hubby, I think!

Yeah, Border is most definitely keeping his judgement in reserve for the moment. But they were having a good hoon about as well...I think Chester is just annoyed that he can't keep up with Merlin!
