Meet my lovely little foster Spaniel who is looking for a new home

I can't. I have an entire Labrador, fully health tested, hopefully soon to be stud dog. She needs to have a season before she's spayed. I'm not the right long term home for her, although she's a real cutie, pretty easy except for the man thing but I think she'd get over that with people she knows given enough time.

Karran, can you share with your flyball friends please.
SAUK have lots of young active Spaniels looking for homes. Especially as christmas is coming, people seem to be having a clear out of last years models. :(

I think she might be too timid for flyball? All the shouting and screaming? It's far noisier than a days shooting!

Clodagh, she's ok with noise, funnily enough, doesn't mind loud TV, other dogs barking, pots and pans clattering in the kitchen. She has a split personality, timid and quiet in the house and much bolder outside, she even wanders off away from the yard gate now when I'm mucking out. The only reason I say no shooting just yet is the number of men involved rather than noise. Luckily for Meg most of the other canine sports seem to attract more women.

Yes and will share with my agility friends as well!
Gotta admit the collie is weedling her way into my affections but i'd snap up another spaniel in a heartbeat!

If only it was time for us to have a second dog - we have a dog she can learn from and there's not a man in sight (unless you count Harvey but he's not a man, he's a goofy idiot). I hope she finds a lovely home soon - she is gorgeous.

I‘ve said it before too, KEEP HER! She looks delighted to be at your house. I know the fee is a little off putting for some people, although of course worth it to get a friend for a lifetime, but you’re surely a bit bonded by now?!

The only way Thistle could keep her, under SAUK guidelines, would be to have her two entire dogs neutered. Probably not going to happen!

Pups are that fee, older dogs much less, you're getting a dog that's been vet checked and cared for, any vet treatment undertaken. If you don't like the fee get a cheaper dog elsewhere. The charity's accounts are available to view, no profit is made. It's a registered charity unlike some of the other smaller rehoming outfits.

Yikes, that’s a big no, then, although would it work (theoretically!) if she got the pup spayed instead? I’m of the mind that I wouldn’t neuter a dog unless medically essential, but I’d spay a bitch if ever I had one never gonna happen!

CT, fees vary for both reasons, some dogs with long term problems are small donation only, some go as permenant fosters with vets fees paid for. The young healthy rehomes have to subsidise the others. Bitch can't be spayed until she's had a season as we have no idea where her cycle is and she's too young yet.

Shame it’s now not 3 months time when I’m in my own (1 woman 1 neutered dog only!) place!

She sounds fab hope she finds a fantastic home :D Well done for fostering!

And yet she can foster her? How does the organisation know that the pup won't come into season whilst with OP? That doesn't make sense to me.

And it is perfectly possible to have a mixed gender 'pack' of entire dogs without accidental pregnancies. We did it for years.

OP, I understand perfectly that you took the pup on to give her a temporary home whilst she looks for a long-term home and that you wouldn't be able to perform the same service for more dogs if you kept each one to crossed your path.

I hope that she finds a lovely home, although it does seem a shame that a tentative pup has to move just as she is settling into your home.
