Well, he’s not exactly new, I’ve had him for about a month now, but meet Teddy!

I recently made the tough decision to part with my ridden gelding, Marvel. I’d started to lose the love for riding, and balancing that with working full-time and being a mum to a toddler was becoming a bit overwhelming. I had originally planned to sell him, but through a friend, I found him the perfect home on long-term loan. I lasted all of two weeks without a horse before realising just how dull life felt without one!

I’ve always had a soft spot for Exmoors and have enquired about a few over the years. Then I accidentally stumbled across a post about a lovely 11-month-old colt for sale. The moment I saw his photo, I fell in love—just like I did with Marvel.

Teddy is now living at a lovely yard I used to be at, where he gets to live out 24/7 all year round. I'm absolutely loving being a horse mum again, especially with a youngster!

He was a bit nervous when he first arrived, but he’s come such a long way. We’ve tackled the headcollar worries, and now I can groom and handle him all over. He comes in for a feed every day and is a little angel to lead. He trots over to the gate every time he sees me—which melts my heart, even if it is just for his food! We’re now working on tying up and picking up feet.

Anyway, here are some photos...

I'm not clued up on my Exmoor breeding but he's by Burrewelle Revel x Waltersgay Azaria :)
Some good old bloodlines there going back. his sire's dam had long rare breed line with Cholderton & Warren in, the dam Azaria was bred by the late Marion Williams and Irene Nash - their Waltersgay ponies were famed through the 80s onwards.

Hope you enjoy him - remember the saying 'you can teach an Exmoor only once'. They have a good memory, this works well when you get things right but can backfire if they have a problem.
