How old are mum and dad now? Only seems 5 minutes ago they were puppies!!!!

Very cute. Are you keeping one?

It's not often I go really puppy broody but I really, REALLY need another whippet pup now. Soooooooooooo gorgeous!!

Those two lighter blue ones are lovely, especially the one with more white.

Yes they are young parents, both will be 2 in a few weeks time. I had hoped to wait a bit longer before she had pups but they had other ideas (despite them living in seperate houses during her season!!).

However its her third season and although she is young she is being the perfect mother. She will be getting spayed before the end of the year. :)

Yes Im gonna keep one but which one to choose!!!????

WSD - Whippet pups are very addictive arnt they!!!!

Thanks Hollyberry I think they make a very gorgeous family :D

*Drool*

I would LOVE another Whippet... Sadly OH would not, he wants a springer, I do not!
*Drools again*, whippets are just brilliant! I want, I want one NOW! :D:D

Ah, where there's a will(lie) :p there's a way! They look lovely, best of luck with them.

For sure, it took them aroun 5 seconds to work it out, I 'stupidly' thought it would take a bit longer and thought Id get away with them saying hello to one another, they are usually inseperable and both were pining terribly being apart.

FM - It has to be a whippet, Ill keep posting pics and between us perhaps we could convince your OH a whip pup is the way forward ;) haha

Don't know how I missed this thread, gorgeous pups, I love how whippet babies are little chubby things, nothing like the adult version. As you say on your other thread OP the pups look very well covered so I really wouldn't worry too much about Tara's eating, she is obvious getting enough at the moment. I am trying to remember if the fawn pups were born fawn when we had whippets, but it was too long ago (40 odd years). At the risk of interfering, I would use a different blanket (I see you have a vet bed in some pics which are great) once the pups start moving about, little nails could get caught in open weave blankets.

Actually they are blue fawn -a very common colour in whippets. Mum is fawn.

Oh, thats interesting, we get blue fawn in chi's but they are born much darker. With the chi's any we have had born the colour of the lighter pups have ended up fawn/cream. But, not bred whippets before :D

MM - Yes the pups really are little chubs!!! They are not constantly feeding either so mum is obviously producing enough milk. Tara just looks so scrawny and her picky ways are making me a bit paranoid, glad to have it confirmed that all looks well.
Yes ive found that witht eh blankets, especially one I have to fold, quite often Ill find a pup under one layer so have been sticking to the vet bed or thick fleece blankets.

So do we think the lighter 2 will stay blue? Im really temped to keep a lighter one if it does stay blue, I guess ill have more of an idea when they are a bit older.

They are gorgeous,as are mom&dad:) Love photo of mum&2babies by her head& last photo of the parents too-mom looks so in love with dad-sweet! X

Want!! I have greyhound/whippet/Bedlington lurchers - my eldest is a blue just like Caleb and is more whippety than anything else.

They are such lovely, dear dogs :) If I didn't have 6 (!) already, I would be up to see you!

Oh god they are so gorgeous!! Congratulations!

I've been yearning for a whippety dog for some time now... these photos are not helping!!! :D
