So, after our interest-only visits to see puppies this afternoon, I am now the proud new owner of a 9 week old Lancashire Heeler, newly christened Pickle (although this is subject to change). He slept most of the way home and then growled at Evie when they met! He is very confident, has been off exploring the garden, and follows Evie round like a shadow. He has also had a sleep in his new crate with very little encouragement.

what a sweetie.
(are you sure he`s not a rottie? that last pic looks a bit like my rottie-boy when he arrived)
lol

He is very cute, but very cheeky, going to need some serious training, he is very good at answering back. Evie has been great with him, just tried to play a bit rough with him once, nearly flattened the poor lad.

Thats what we have had to watch with Darcy in case she accidently steps on her, Pip weigh 2.8 kg Darcy 35kg.

I had forgotten how utterly fearless these dogs are.

Pickle really is fearless, he has no problem growling at Evie if she annoys him! We took him to a local village fete/companion dog show today where he was showered in attention which he loved. He caused great amusement in the food tent as I tried to eat cake while holding a squirming puppy away from me. MM entered Evie in the Open dog show class and I managed to annoy the woman next to her in the ring by holding Pickle outside the ring, apparently her dog was distracted because he wanted to eat the puppy! She stormed off in a huff when she didn't win the class, presumably all my fault for standing outside the ring with that sodding puppy.

So far he has only had one accident in the house, and that was my fault because I wasn't paying attention. He slept from 11.30 last night to 7.30 this morning without a peep and with a clean bed which we were very impressed with, he was completely shattered last night though! He is currently passed out in his bed like an angel, and long may his good behaviour last!

Sounds like he is doing brilliantly, Pip goes to the door when she has to toilet and we let her in the garden, but if we dont notice she will go on the paper.

Pip is sleeping through the night too which is brill but she is being taken to the vet tomorrow as she has a touch of conjunctivitis. Ive given her an organic carrot to chew on as she has needle sharp teeth and she is enjoying that. Ive forgotten how they bark every time someone comes to the house, my Dobes dont always so hopefully she is going toteach them how to do it.:D

Your little dog is going to be so good for Evie, how did she do at the show?

Keep up the progress reports and some more photos wont go amiss.

I think we will draw a veil over how Evie did at the show.:p I wasn't going to enter her but got a free entry with admission so thought I would have a laugh, but don't think the best way to impress an all rounder judge is to show in a german link chain collar.:D Plus Evie kept looking at me as if I was mad every time I tried to get her to stand, the class was won by a lovely beagle bitch, but owner obviously showed a lot, professional number holder etc, don't know why people like that bother with little shows. And as M88 said there was an extremely snotty woman with a standard poodle who stormed out of the ring after the first 2 had been pulled in, after having complained that her dog wouldn't show because it was looking at Pickle. As she had a couple more in her kitted out van I suspect they too were shown regularly so should have been used to distractions.
Oh and just to clarify, Pickle was carried round for about half an hour, he wasn't put on the floor at any point.

MM, you should have let her out the full 2m and M88, you should have whistled, called, swung a football rattle and knocked a few people flying, just for the full GSD showing experience :p :D

She was waving a puppy round in front of her, double handling with a difference. :D I was very tempted to give Evie the full lead, and do several laps but I was a good girl and did a triangle. :D

Their origins are part corgi, would fit in well with your two! I just left the door at the bottom of our stairs open for 2 seconds and he was up them like a rat up a drain, couldn't believe it, each stair is taller than him!
