We went to see some collie pups today :) Just two bitches left (wanted a dog really), Dad was smooth coated (not keen on those) and they were 3 months old (would have preferred younger) - but we just couldn't resist this little tri coloured and brought her home :)

Both Mum and Dad were lovely dogs with happy, kind natures. They were all in excellent condition and came from a lovey home. She has been wormed twice but not had any jabs yet.

Poor little thing has lived her life with her sister, Mum and Dad so I feel desperately sorry for her tonight. I was hoping she would be able to sleep out with Toby and Flyn this evening, but no chance - Flyn is ridiculously excited about it all and won't give her a minutes peace so we have brought the crate into the house.

She has never been in a house before, nor a car and yet she has remained so composed, just a little squeaking occassionally but she has drank and eaten a little. I am sure she will settle in very soon.

A few pics from this evening....

Tell me about it Gina! I tried to persuade son, until I was blue in the face, to get a springer but he has been adamant for years that he wanted a useless collie! ;)

Oh well, I am sure I can teach it to retrieve birds and you get all sorts in the beating line ;)

Useless collies eh??!!!!! AHEM!!!!!!!!!!!

R says the head gamekeeper for this estate had a collie gundog, and still to this day says it was the best gun dog he'd ever had! So ner ner ner-ner neeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

I think she has too much white on her face to be pretty but she is adorable :)

Encouraging signs so far then that I will be able to disguise her as a gundog!

Yay, another tri-coloured collie ('ve got a 6 month old male)!! Like yours mine had never slept indoors but he settled really well. She is lovely.....

Bless her, she looks as if she has been with you for ever, sounds like she really won you over if you went for a male! Looks like she is going to be quite a big girl too, hope Flyn manages to woo her before she ends up bigger than him.:D

Naww shes lovely, your son looks like one very very happy young man! What a lovely mummy letting him have a useless collie instead of a spangle! :p :D

UPDATE:::

She didn't make a sound last night, not one little squeak - bless.

We took her for a short run in the field this morning and she just totally adores Flyn and follows his every move! Also he has calmed down now and we shut them in the pen together and watched from a safe distance to see what they would do.....nothing!!

So far so good :)

PS: Thanks for everyones nice replies :)
