After losing my cara I was seriously thinking about staying dogless. I was totally miserable.
Then this little scrap came into my life on Monday...
and first time off the lead today
I am her 4th (and last) home in 3 weeks. In that time she has been bullied by great danes in the first home, an adult male dobe in the second. Neither realised that she was in season and that is why she was getting so much grief! the 3rd took posession at 8pm and put her in a kennel on her own on a farm which nobody lives on. she barked and howled all night, they did it again the second night and she did the same but by the morning she had chewed her way out. Her wee gums were all red and bruised. whilst on the loose she was mated by some random dog, picked up by police and put in the pound.
She is a bit thin and was terribly traumatised and exhausted. she is 9 months but physically looks like she is about 6 months.
She slept loads mon night and tuesday, i have just let her chill out. our house is very calm anyway so that has helped.
She has been incredibly good. she is really worried if a dog comes too close and will snap. It's just fear. I am waiting til this season is properly over before addressing the issue. If anyone has any suggestions of the best ways to sort it then i would appreciate the input.
WIthin an hour of picking her up she was at the vet getting the morning after jab and will get her spayed in a few months, once she is settled properly.
She is very sweet and really makes me smile, and the circumstances surrounding her coming to me were a bit strange, think it was supposed to happen.
