Hi All

Thanks for the help and advice.

Bunny has been to the vet this morning with her puppies. I was concerned as I thought she had retained the last placenta. The vet thinks she has so he has given her an injection of oxytocin and some antibiotics. He has examined all the puppies - three boys - and declared them fit and healthy.

Bunny is being fantastic - not at all phased by a trip out with her pups and no growling, snapping or baring teeth.

And where Bunny decided she must have her puppies - there is a box under that blanket! We weren't meant to be using that blanket and had bought a vet blanket for her but she wasn't having any of it!!

So I had company in bed last night for a change!

Well done to little Bunny

And well done to you for coping so well. You will have no problems finding those little cuties home! (in fact if you do, you can post me one

Oh, I have been waiting for this. So pleased that everything is OK, they are seriously cute. I have never seen JR pups, so can't imagine how tiny they must be.

Congrats, very pretty.

If you want any hind dew claws removed remember to have them done in the next couple of days...

So pleased to see that gorgeous mum and babies are in good health !
Congrats to all !
And Bunny must feel so much better now that the little ones have popped out

Oh they are very cute Nuala.

They look like big puppies, which is probably why Bunny looked like she was about to pop!

Glad everything went well.

They are gorgeous, and she looks a really contented mum now. Hope you have recovered from the experience. I have to admit I used to always be on edge until the bitch had finished whelping, but absolutely loved rearing puppies. Don't think you can beat that puppy smell

ETS Just seen your post about dew claws. Not all pups have back dew claws but if they do most people have them removed at a couple of days old. They are not needed and can often get torn in the older dog resulting in a nasty injury. Your vet may have checked for them when he checked pups over, if not I would check yourself and give him a call and ask him to remove them. It is very quick, I'm not going to say painless but in my experience the pup squeaks once and then settles back down with mum.

Just had another look at your pics. If that is Bunnys hind leg in the pic then doesn't look like she has a back dew claw on that leg anyway! They are like a little thumb midway between the foot and the hock.
