This week I picked up Poppy
She is a 4 year old, 15.3 hands, little and wee , but she still has a fair bit of filling out and muscling up to do!
She came from the raceyard where I work, did not think that I would ever be able to get my hands on her as she was so gritted and determined in her work and SO keen to please, and might have done well, but thankfully my boss accepted an offer for her after she did just the one race over hurdles.
She's had a nice all round education, knows all her stuff on the flat, ( we school our racehorses in the arena) has done gridwork, hacks out on busy roads, is used to going in to the town gallops and working/jumping with other horses. But she's not been hammered, she only did a couple of months training last year, and then had 4 months out in the field, and so far she's been back in work for 4 months.
She's fab fun to jump, seems very bold and scopey, and has a wonderfull canter, can collect on the spot or extend by just slightly adjusting your shoulders back/forwards. She has a real jump in her canter. With her flatwork she completly switches off and is very laidback, and just does as she is told
