Finally got around to uploading photos of OH's (and my (when he's not being bad at least) dog!

Hope the piccies work

When we first got him (May) (about 9 weeks old, OH bought him shortly after he had diarrhoea all over him getting rid of a paper blockage...)

A couple of months later - he has a strange habit of sleeping with his head on the floor...

On a rowing boat in the lake district - he was very excited - glad he was only 12 kg at 4 months!

Borrowing the cat's bed age approx 6 months!

Now, approx 9 months and 25kg

He's very fond of the sofa, but only jumps up when invited (mostly)

Loves his walks on Dartmoor.

Hope the photo sizes are OK - no idea how they work!

Thanks. Had no idea labs could be that colour until we got him! Loads of people don't recognise him as a lab - Ridgeback and Vizla were common guesses - but his shape is more obvious now.

He's working bred, but unlikely to be gundog trained as it costs a lot upfront, although he was desparate to try to collect clays at a clay pigeon shoot, so he's certainly not worried by guns!

Rowing - he tried his best to send us all for a swim, leaning out of the boat. So glad that he was only small - the boat rocked fairly heavily!

Oh, and a bonus - a picture of me, concentrating very very hard on rowing a boat - I'm the one in front!

I thought he must be working bred with a head like that! Yes, many people don't recognise 'red' labs as being labradors as it is such an unusual colour (I believe it comes under the yellow/golden colouring but is just very very dark. I'm sure someone can verify that!)

Apparently Fox Red is an old type of yellow.

Shown as yellow, but white spots are permitted. Also the shoulder flashes/chinchilla effect are normal. Think it's fairly recessive - he was the only one in a litter - 1 normal yellow, rest black.

Oh bless him, he's special!

We currently have a yellow lab and a black lab. They make the best pets (although ours are gundogs, well the yellow is training!)

You must keep us updated on his progress, he is just stunning.

I've seen a few Labs that colour. When you spot the rangier builds in that shade, I always think hound/Lab mix at first.

He's a beautiful boy--looks like he's going to be a lot of fun
