Thank you both! Hopefully nothing funny going on and it's just the way she moves. But whatever will be will be, hopefully will have answers soon. Trying to not get too worked up about what ifs until we know more. And even if it is dysplasia, we can manage that. Appreciate the good vibes :)

She's at the vets for her xrays and I'm not expecting a call from them until 3 o'clock but I feel positively sick, have achieved F all at work today and I just feel awful. Not helped by the fact she screeched when I left her.

I am prone to a bit of anxious thinking but I really don't like thinking of her in a crate at the vets wondering what the hell is happening. :(

She doesn't have hip dysplasia. Apparently her hips look great. I'm just waiting on them emailing me the xrays. Vet was surprised because that's really how she presented. They also xrayed her back and knees.

We are a bit concerned about her knee and have been referred for an MRI.
That’s good news. I missed all this, I do hope she’s just done something and nothing.

Phew about the hips, fingers crossed you get to the bottom of it!

Thanks! I'm sure we will. We're going to Earlswood, so I'm sure they'll figure it out. Hopefully insurance will pay out without too much issue because it will probably be a fortune ?

Was discussing it with someone at work today and she said her dog has hip dysplasia and I asked about xrays and she said he didn't have any...... Vet just decided by watching him walk and his breeds.

So I'm glad my vets seem competent and willing to investigate and they have also been very helpful with info about navigating the insurance. I would hate to have just written it off as something it wasn't I need to know for certain.

There'll be some who think I'm mad, but her gait just isn't quite right and I want her, like I'm sure everyone on here does for their dogs, to have a long and pain free life.

Not mad at all, I'm really conscious of Ginnys back leg confirmation with doing sports so do as much as I can to keep her legs safe as I'm paranoid about her (and the others but mostly her) tearing her cruciate

Who says on lead walks need to be boring? Sticking to the walkable verge of course, lots to sniff for Fodhla. We met some very well behaved dogs and lovely owners today as well, a malamute, a mini schnauzer, a fox red lab and a wire fox terrier. Made a nice change from going out amongst the uncivilised.

I had a lovely relaxed walk today, ground nice and frozen so easy to walk, sun shining, only met one well behaved dog on our walk round the fields so mine were off lead all of the time and I didn’t have to get cross with badly behaved off lead dogs, heaven ?

Thank you! She does seem to really enjoy life, it's amazing seeing her transformation. Having other people comment on her is so lovely there's a lot of second guessing and worrying if we're doing the best for her (more me than Mr AP to be fair he doesn't tend to overthink).

We are still restricted to the lead at least until she gets her scan on Tuesday. The good outcome of that is that we are working her hard training wise on her walks and her engagement is pretty solid now. 99 percent of the time now she remembers I'm attached to the other end of the lead. She can still be a little pully at times but we are getting there. She no longer pays any attention to cyclists, and thankfully her fascination with school children has subsided (I obviously never let her approach them but she really really wanted to). Nothing like this derpy face looking up at you on a dark winter morning ?

i've loved reading reading this thread as we have just hit the 1 month mark with our new rescue.

first week she was swearing at other dogs on the lead but is slowly getting more sociable as she is getting more secure with us. i didnt think 'my dog' was a small hairy terriorist but she came up to me in the kennels and insisted she was mine. she is currently pinning me to my office chair fast asleep whilst i am dying for a wee.

Came pretty much house broken and crate trained and has a lovely gentle nature (with people anyway) so I feel very lucky

She is lovely @Lacuna
I'm glad to hear how well she is doing! Fodhla is really sweet with people too, it definitely helped us forgive some of her faults when she first arrived 😂

Good luck for Fodhla and you tomorrow, I hope it is positive news for you. She looks very happy and secure with you in the recent pictures, it looks like she knows that she is 'yours' now :)

Thanks for well wishes! Unfortunately the vet due to do Fodhla's scan tomorrow has taken ill and they're at reduced capacity,so we've been rescheduled to next week. Mildly annoying, but can't be helped!

Sorry to hear that as I expect you were quite keen to get it done and dusted (I would be, I'm not good with waiting for things like that!). I hope you and Fodhla have a good week though, and that the scan doesn't need to be postponed again.
