Our Saluki bitch had seven pups almost three weeks ago. We had them all outside for the first time today in the sun. Cute or what? :)







 
Aww, I do love Salukis - they always look very serene, almost regal! Funny to think those tubby puppies will turn out so lean. If you showe me them without the mother I would have no clue what they were as have never seen saluki pups.
 
*grabby hands* SO CUTE. I wants one. Your bitch is stunning, I love Salukis, they are so regal looking and aristocratic. I love how the puppies look like labs and turn out so different!
 
They are adorable. :D I'm in love with the little dark one under his(?) mum's ear in the first pic. Do you have any more photos?
 
I wish I hadn't clicked on this thread now! :o I have an 11 month old Saluki x lurcher and am always talking about 'when I get a pure'!!! :p Gorgeous mother and adorable pups, please post more of their progress! ;) :)
 
I had a friend who fostered for Saluki rescue and always had 5 or 6 in the back of her car when she came for a visit . This was back in the mid eighties and though I realised they weren't the right breed for me then perhaps they could be now . They are so beautiful , serene and quiet(:Dyeah I know , famous last words). I have to agree , if I had seen those pups without mum I would be stumped for breed . Very beautiful . The mother is actually a Kazakh Tazi which is a regional type of the Saluqi/Tazi Landrace of dogs which span from Eastern Europe to china, India, North Africa and everwhere that lies between. The Father is SalukixTazi so these will be 3/4 Tazi 1/4 Saluki. They'll make great hunting dogs with bottomless stamina making them great hacking companions as well.
 
Lovely pictures of beautiful pups. They are like whippet pups aren't they, the little chunky pups give no indication of the elegant dog which will emerge.

Thanks MM, although to be honest, these dogs will never be elegant like typical western Salukis or whippets. They will be far more substantial in build, the mother is 22" TTS and weighs 50lbs in fit hard working condition, the Sire is 26" and 70lbs in weight. They are built for hunting in the roughest mountain terrain you could imagine.
 
Wow! Lovely puppies. I can't believe how short their noses are in comparison to when they're fully grown! They are utterly squishable :)

Beautiful mama dog, too. Congratulations :)
