Thank you Mrs J that is such a lovely thing to say :). I will put some Ruby spam up again soon. I have my granddaughter staying the night (aged 5) and so far she has invented several excuses including a spider who was probably friendly but because he was so small she could not see his face (LoL), to get me up and down stairs!
Ruby on the other hand is settled nicely in her bed watching random TV :)

I'm so glad that it looks as if Ruby is making a good recovery, even if you haven't really got a diagnosis.
Once the bloods are all back if she is still not 101% I will be asking if we can speak to a referral unit for ideas. My own vets have been so good again today though and they've always referred when needed in the past. I am keen to get a proper diagnosis just for any future management.

Having a Senior moment, forgot to say,he also had 6 weeks of antibiotics[ Flagyl and Clavulox] and Peptosyl, old fashioned but very useful.
We fed high quality protien, mainly chciken breast with a little pasta low fat and used lots of Nutrigel to provide extra nutrition.
Hope she continues to improve,Otto and Hilda send their best wishes.

Dab dab vet said last night it seems more of a regurgitation. She just sort of opens her mouth and it comes out. No retching etc. She is worse if she is allowed to walk/sniff in their garden and better if quiet in the kennel. I am hoping it's not that but having googled:rolleyes: a lot it does seem to fit with everything. Obviously I'm not going to PTS now but my feeling is if it continues I cannot manage her like the websites say. I just feel guilty as of course they all talk about their commitment and love for their pup/furbaby. But she is a 2 yo dog not a pup or a furbaby and loves her active, naughty, poo eating, underwear stealing generally joyful life. I am just overthinking as usual I hope.

My sisters dog has this, lives a good full life, we have to be careful out on walks.

Water is on a step so he is upright when drinking. As he is small enough he eats in a food waste bucket from the council padded out with pillows.

Pm me your email address and i can get you in touch with my sister.

His was diagnosed at three, I think, and it completely changed his life. Before that her previous vets had put it down to up set tummys etc.

He is on omeprazole only as meds. His dry food is soaked so its mush. He doenst have any hard food at all otherwise he regurditates it. He still goes on long walks, comes to the yard. Has been camping this summer

Have seen the update and even if its been ruled out its not an end of life disease. The fb pages also have people on there who show worst case etc. The ones going well dont actually post.

Slightlyconfused thank you and if things go bad again I will ask to be put in touch with your sister as it would be helpful. Likewise DSB if things go wrong I will take all this on board.

Today was good. Ate well, pooed well and no vomiting! Vet wants to leave her on meds for a couple of weeks at least but is very hopeful and feels not MO. which is great.

Bloods - folate low which apparently can indicate inflamation/absorption problems with proximal small bowel but does not say why it has happened. Addisons disease ruled out!
We are going to add supliment for folate and B12 to her diet, leave her on metaclopramide and omeprazole and watch and wait with a low threshold for reassessment at anytime. She was lively today and begging at our supper time - so much more normal behavior for her. Still tired but she's had a rough week or so and has lost weight so we'll see how she does. I'm feeling much happier.

Even if all the bad stuff is ruled out I am so grateful for the information, support and knowledge on this wonderful site :) x

ETS vet ringing after the weekend for an update and scan unremarkable.

Todays update :)
Vomited x 1 at 02.30 very small amount of partially digested food. This morning very cheerful and bright and although still a little quieter than usual is almost back to her old self.
Vet is going to catch up with me again Tuesday (I am working tomorrow).
Thanks for all the famous vibes I think they might be helping!
She enjoyed watching todays xc highlights this afternoon!
