Just come back from stables, and we are having the worst thunder and lightning I have seen for years. Someone at Uni said today that we are having an Europen monsoon and will go from the 14th-18th of June, and happen each year about the same time

Apparantly also due one in July 18-21st too?!? My field is getting rather boggy for the poor guys and I keep going up and checking that they are not too cold, but seem to be putting up with it, just means that riding is no fun in the rain. Pointless post really, but there you have the weather report for next week

Trust there to be a storm in Notts as soon as I leave... love a good storm! Just raining like hell here and SO windy, did hear its due to finally stop on Monday/Tuesday. Had to cancel my lessons cause of it, and all the horses are in 24/7 as fields are being trashed.

Made me feel really pi**ed off when heard that our climate has changed and we can expect this every year (bl**dy great!!) soggy fields in June, should not be like this.

It's been ok today, but it rained and thundered and lightening like I don't know what yesterday, but it was still really warm and muggy. When it eventually stopped George and I went out for a wee hack there was still lots of loud thunder and George was really cool...............until he saw himself in a puddle!

we had bad storm last night but more or less dry today and now sunny!!

but more forecast for tonight

It might not be 'global warming' but something isn't 'right' with this weather now

St Bernard where do you live? Its still warm here, don't make me panic and trudge up a 10 acre field on a 45 deg angle to go and rug up two neddys!!

Keep my horse near newark and didnt think i was going to be able to get home the road was flooding and 2 cars stuck in the middle! Waited and a landrover came along so followed him through but the water was well up the doors of my jeep!
Had to keep my mare in tonight as her field is 3/4 under water hoping it will drain off a bit over night so she can at least get a few hours out tomorrow!
Your horses will be fine pagancloughie Is still really warm bought my mare in about 6 soaked through but plenty warm enough.
Not looking forward to this every year! Although have to admit i find it kinda exciting when it rains that hard. Cant remember it having been so bad for years.

Got dropped off the bus to a small "island" of tarmac, waded (and yes mean waded) to my car, drove through HUGE flood, got to yard. Farrier had been and gone, taken G's shoes off and that was as far as he got, g was being WILD because of thunder and lightening, and I'd been held up, did horse,a nd drove home, previously flooded road back to normal!?

So got shoeless mental horse with grim bed from trotting around his stable, and wet feet myself from wading!!!!

yes we have had thunder and lightning in Derbys too and loads more rain! My boy is lucky and spoilt because he has access to his field stable at all times and goes in there out of the worst of it to munch on his hay...but can then come out into the field again as he wants to! I have put his rug back on as he feels the cold and seems happier being toasty!
