My megatek rebuilder came today 😄. I was reading the instructions and it says to apply to clean hair for 5 minutes, then rinse off.. 2-3 times a week or whenever the horse is bathed. .. Or on blanket rubs use daily. It then says it doesn't have to be rinsed off. I'm confused??? How do you all use yours? My pony is now in a rug with no neck and is out 24/7. I bought megatek as he's got a bald patch on his mane. Any advice is welcome x

I think if you are using to condition you rinse off but if on bald patches leave on. I always leave on for bald patches and rubbed manes although this winter I have discovered a better cure for losing manes - no neck covers!

I mix it 50/50 with water and put it in a spray bottle. Spray, massage it in and leave it on about twice/three times a week.
Whenever I bath him (about once a month when I comepte, as he's grey) I put it on neat and rinse off after 5 minutes. It does seem to grow pretty quickly, but im not sure if that's just him or if the megtek has an effect.

LOL ... my new bottle arrived today as well. I'm a big fan and use it diluted 1 part Megatek to 1-2 parts water. It's very thick and sticky (as you'll realise if you've opened the bottle) and can build up if you don't dilute it. You might find a 50/50 dilution a bit thick to spray so I apply it diluted with a clean hoof oil brush to the roots of my highland's mane where it's rubbed out, and it definitely seems to help it grow. Brush it on the hair and brush through, about 2-3 times per week. Leave it on ... wash out maybe once a month or so if you feel you're getting a bit of build up.

It seems to really deep condition the hair to protect it and make it stronger so it resists being rubbed better. Also, it really does seem to make the hair grow faster. I have no idea how. All I can say is that I've used it for 2 years on my boy now and swear by it. It smells very strongly of coconut oil, so I guess that's a main ingredient ... quite nice really.

PS ... also foo for dry hooves, applied neat ... and human finger nails. (Not tried it on my own hair, but don't see why not. ...)

I remember googling it before buying it for the first time and came across a forum where lot of women, black women in particular, were saying it did wonders for their hair!

I dilute it and spray on

I'm personally convinced its the massaging in increasing blood flow to the area that makes the hair grow better but I'm not arguing with the results! I do find the Supreme mane and Tail rebuilder better for my itchy pony as its so oily the midges don't like biting through it

I've used it in the past with success on saddle rubs and spur marks. Just about to go & try it on a new horse with badly rubbed mane and weedy tail, I hope it works as well as on the other horse :)
In answer to the leave it on, or rinse it off question, I've done both with no particular rhyme or reason, just what I felt like at the time. I like the idea of diluting and spraying, I may try this.

I apply it neat to the tail and leave it on once a month then I plait the tail and put it in a bag. For manes I generally use the 50-50 spray option and for rub marks on neat and leave. I find the Eqyss detangler absolutely brilliant and it leaves the mane soft and silky with a bit of a sheen which I find also helps to stop rubbing. This year I have gone for rugs without necks and although the bottom of his mane is a bit thinner it looks a lot better than the silly bit of hair we called a mane last year!

I used to use it on my hair which refused to grow. Once I started using it, it grew at a rate of knots! I originally purchased it for my horse but that particular bottle never actually made it to the yard..
