Opinions on if it works? Horse has always rubbed the lower half of his mane out every year (due to allergies which I *hope* are under control now). He is a Welsh D and so does need a decent mane as he does quite a bit of showing!

Anybody know if it can be used on manes, and if so - is it to just be applied daily or washed out etc.?

I used it on a pony with sweet itch who had rubbed out the bottom half of his mane before I bought him. I washed as usual and then put the conditioner in and left it. Its hard to say whether it worked or not - I used a boet and all sorts of potions to keep the sweet itch away and so he didn't really rub any more and the mane grew back. I think it made the mane look thicker while it was growing back but I can't say for sure whether it made it grow quicker.

It was highly recommended by people on her and I would use it again quite happily.

I used it on one of my ponies but, quite honestly, was totally unimpressed.

Yep you can use it on manes (and tails and feet...). It is marvellous stuff and you should apply it daily - instructions as per bottle say to rinse off, but I have never had problems with leaving it in.

Personally I swear by it and have used it for the last 18 months. Cairo for the first time since having chemo has a mane that is the length of his neck. Ok, the wither end is more like a TB than a clyde, but it is over 8" long where it has normally be a few wisps and hogged look. Took him 6 months to grow 4" of mane which for him is amazing.

Also use it on top of tail and my vet recently remarked how good his tail looks - nice and thick and no bog brush top.

Use it on Chancer's mane and tail. Tail now survives his mild sweet itch - top is thick and growing well. Mane and forelock grow over an inch a month and are really thick and strong. That said he is a gypsy cob so he should have a lot of growth.

I water it down to 50 - 50 and rub into the roots every other day and then leave it in. I also use in on Chancer's feather in the summer to protect it and strenghen it.

I also used it on Chancer's face when had a big scrape down his blaze - all hair and top layer of skin removed. I had a big show in 2 weeks and used it daily and by the time of the show you would not have known he had had the scrape - all hair grown back.

Combined with their survivor detangler it is an essential in my grooming/show kit.

I find it doesnt do a lot for my boys mane when he rubs it out, nor did it work when he cut his hip, applied it every other day for three weeks and hair only just started growing back, worked well on his hock grazes though, I dont think Id buy it again but its worth having around
