I ave a grey pony, who has always had a small, button sized melanoma under his tail, occasionally weeped but generally nothing at all. We have had him about 8yrs now.
He was out on loan for a year and I checked and there are now two of them, large enough, and one is quite oozy/weepy, black fluid from the black lump.
Im not quite sure now, they are a form of cancer aren't they?
Is the fact another one has sprung up in a year a good/bad sign? Can they be removed? Has anyone else had any melanomas in this area and do they obstuct the passing of droppings or can they cause a problem?
Will obviously get the vet to look next time he's out, but just wanting others experiences?
