melanomas......

My grey mare has had melanomas for a while, about 3 or 4 on her face. These don't cause any discomfort but she has developed a large one in her tail and it is weeping red/ yellow gunge

I'm not really sure what to do with it... any ideas? thanks

I'd probably get the vet to come out and have a look. Best to be safe

There's nothing you can do about the actual M's per say. Keep the oozing one clean (I wash once a day in summer with diluted hibiscrub and cotton wool) and smother it in cream. It is the flies that irritate it. If it looks infected call the vet for some antibiotics.
