Meloxidryl

Does it actually aid healing by being anti inflammatory or is it’s main use as a painkiller?
Pen is all stitched up (again) having run into a sheet of galvanised tin someone dumped in a ditch. Third injury this season ?.
She finished her antibiotics today but I’m not sure whether she should still have the meloxidryl? The wound doesn’t seem painful, she’s bright and cheery. (Although did have it this morning).

To my knowledge, anti inflammatories don't aid healing (and in some cases have been shown to slow healing down). I've never known Meloxidyl be used for wound healing; it's just for the anti-inflammatory effects/pain.

If in doubt, call your vet (sorry, couldn't resist stating the obvious!). Poor Pen; I'm glad she's feeling cheery at least. Very tidy stitching job too.

I thought I’d try not giving her any tomorrow and see how she does. I don’t want her too cheerful anyway ?.
Thank you for reply. They did a great job, it wasn’t far off being degloved. She was being stitched within 45 minutes of the injury which helped I think.
