You'll be fine both of you. (Says me who was knocked out jumping a ditch on Sat!) Not to worry you at all!
Max is a super star he will look after you!

k9h, you telling me I'll be fine then telling me you got knocked out (you nutter) is not helping much. And don't you dare say it's the thought that counts!

Yes he is Guildford, and isn't he such a thoroughly nice bloke? Had his son with us too (who must be all of 12) telling us how to do it!

Ah but it was only for a second that I saw tweetie pie! & I stayed on, but think that was because I did not want kiss of life from Master behind me! He went to jump ditch but put legs in it, so we went down further than planned! Sat on his head so he smacked me with his poll in cheek to put me in the saddle! Isn't he thoughtfull!! Like me to you!!

You will both be fine. Honestly! x

You had Rory telling you how to do it?!!! He has got a pair of ears on him and a half!! I know the Bevin's very well - I was a nanny and groom for the ex Cottesmore hunt chairman for 3 years before I moved with the old Cottesmore terrierman to the South Dorset. I miss the hedges up there so much. I have got the best hedge pony/horse in the world and she is wasted down here!!

William is a lovely man - we had a horse that had to be sedated to clip because he was such a bastard and William helped me do his head and dodgy bits so we'd get it done before the sedation wore off. Def. nice bloke!!

Oh yes, Rory was finding us "better" places to jump than we'd already found, bless him. He was gutted that it would be another 4 years before he'd be able to do it.

Small world, isn't it? So what do you jump with the South Dorset?

We have vale days where we go hedgehopping but sadly they aren't every Tuesday!! I think we get 3 a season plus a joint meet with the B&SV. Other than that its timber with the odd hedge thrown in which is why I miss my Tuesday's with the Cottesmore where every Tuesday you'd be guarenteed to go hedge hopping. No doubt you'll be pinging many of them doing the ride!!

Rory, bless him, has a fantastic pony and jumps just as well as the grown ups.

I went and walked the course again with April (my able assistant and camera expert!), and it looked much better than the first time. April is Max's No1 fan, so she thought he and I would be fine.

This is the first big hedge, although I reckon lots will crash through this thin bit:

This is about four fences later:

or this is the long route:

I'm a bit disappointed that they don't look very big on the photos, but maybe it was my nerves making them seem bigger?!

I think I've jumped most of the Cottesmore hedges on a 14.2 pony so you will be fine. Do also remember that if you aren't in the first 5 or so someone will always make a hole in the hedge for you!! YOu'll be brilliant
