went to melton sales today 4th june. And fell in love with a irish? sprts horse. Black and white.
Number 1013

Anyone know who brought him??

also the ponies where going for as little as 20g.....
 
i was there & saw that one - dont know what happened - sorry
some horses/ponies with horrible horrible feet
one cob so poor they wouldnt let it go through the ring [ & god knows they dont have very high standards there]
did anyone see the flea bitten grey - so sad
i HATE melton market - was only there as was leafleting for a friends livery yard

Yeah I agree there feet where horrible. I did notice a lady was bidding for the CHEAP ones. would she be on behalf of the meatman do you think?

Some very sad cases. I did not see the one they didnt let in, I don't think.....?

I just don't know how people can sell there horses there.
Although I did like the horse 1013 Wish I bidded on him.

Did you see the chestnut who couldnt really walk? Gotta of been doped

I've just written a thread on this in the new lounge, I saw the black cob with the feet with chunks missing out of them, ribs showing, hips jutting out and vertebrae all visible, I felt so awful for it :(

According to the description it was a "sad sale" due to "lack of time", poor bugger was neglected plain and simple :(

Yeah I agree with your post you started. Poor ponies. I haven't been to the sale for years.

The Irish Sports Horse 1013 - I really want and would love to find it. I have a horrible feeling he went to the meatman?

No but if they were a bit more helpful they could ask purchaser if they would contact your or ask if they could pass on details.

I used to manage an A&E dept and if someone not 'next of kin' enquired we could always ask the patient if we could give info to a named friend.
 
Got some info, the woman behind the auctioneer was the meat woman, and she bought 30+ including the poor Cob :( (though at least he is out of his misery) she also bought 2 little colts and a coloured sports horse :(
