I've joined as Gold BHS member (£59 pa) to benefit from their PLI (I'm NOT covered elsewhere) but on browsing the BSJA website see that their Supporter Membership (annual fee a mere £29!) benefits from British Showjumping Public Liability Insurance for up to £30million for any horse that they own, ride or look after.

Hmmmm... why has no one ever mentioned THIS 'free' cover before

Because it has a £1000 excess whereas the BHS one has no excess. The ones offered by BE/BD/BSJA really are not worth having!

*Gives HUGH sigh of relief*

Thanks! That's made me feel a whole lot better :D:D:D

I didn't get as far as reading the small print... just goes to show you always have to!

You don't get to see the small print unless you ask the organisations for it, and they do not publicise the huge excess, which is a bit cheeky I think since they tout it as a benefit!!

It's also worth checking your household policy as you may well already be covered, the BHS only pay out if you aren't covered on your household policy anyway.
