I went onto Facebook today and it reminded me that seven years ago today was my Lady Gascoyne’s last birthday.

I hope you are giving them hell wherever you are, my mad little horse. You are dearly missed.

She was absolutely one in a million. I was actually telling a colleague about how fantastic she was this morning - I hadn’t even realised it was her birthday.

I’ve never sat on a more brilliant horse, she absolutely flew and she was as brave as a lion. Or had no instinct for self-preservation, either way. If only her brain would have let her be even remotely useful but she was so sharp she was positively terrifying ?
