Memory Foam v Gamgee

Has anyone ever used memory foam pads under stable bandages in place of gamgee? My guy is bandaged while in the stable to prevent filling of one hing leg and I just thought that this would give more support as it would mould to the leg better and give even pressure. Thanks in advance

My guess would be that it would create too much heat, knowing how hot the mattresses are!
