We was going to put in a 60x40m menage, but now think it might just take up too much room so what's peoples thoughts on 60x20m? The idea of 50x40m has been raised but I said that's not so good because of practising dressage tests etc.

i would say it would depned on how much jumping you plan to do in there. it would obviously be easier to get more jumps in if the school is wider than 20m. but as you have said not much good for practising dressage testa that need 60x20.

depends what you want to do. I have a 20x40 and have never missed the larger arena but I only do dressage (up to medium), no jumping. Have lessons in a 20x60 and if I really want to practice a particular test in the large arena, I ride in the field.
It's only me using the school, I think if you've got liveries, 20x 60 is probably better, otherwise you'll be levelling it all the time.

We have a 30 x 40, that was what fitted in the space!! I would give my eye teeth for a 60x20, that is plenty big enough to practise grids and related distances! 60x40 is huge!!
