My husband wants to start riding again. It's prob 15 years since he did and back then he was skinny, now he's more dadbod 😆 He's said he doesn't want to look like a tit so asked me what the fashionable middle aged hacking gent wears - I've no idea.

I haven't seen a man riding outside of competition in forever now I think about it. Any good stuff out there for the men in our lives?

Thanks

We just buy men’s jodhs in a manly sort of colour (grey/black) and my husband wears his normal T-shirts etc on top. Not that worried about fashion here, but rather comfort! Decathlon have had some good jodhs in the past.

Once he owned some jeans, OH rode in jeans but he was elderly with fragile skin and changed to wearing breeches and half chaps (in the UK) because the jeans rubbed him when riding English and the seams on the breeches were softer. He went on riding in the school till he was 76 and a half, he says. Then his favourite elderly canter horse died and so OH stopped riding.

OH always wore Mark Todd breaches, as they were pleated at the front so aren’t quite so revealing as normal jods. He rides in jeans now. Maybe your hubby has to just see what he feels most comfortable in, once he’s back in the saddle.
