Hi all,

It's been a long time since I have posted in here but I have come to a total loss as to where to find some men's riding boots for my husband.

On the odd occasion he comes out with me to watch me eventing and also now to take one of the horses for a hack. However, he doesn't have any riding boots and today his trusty jeans and walking boots just didn't cut it and his poor legs are very chapped and hairless 😱

So I was wondering if any of you horsey men out there or women with slightly horsey OH's, knew of the best place to buy some riding boots?

My husband's requests are -

That they are no more than £100
He can also walk in them (i.e walking courses or generally around the yard)

Many thanks for any answers or websites that you think may be useful to us.

I'm size 9.5 and have bought mountain horse and tuffa before. Mark Todd do a reasonable price man sized boot too. Won't find much in leather under 100 though. At the moment I am using tuffa short boots and Ariat half chaps because it's cheaper. I've got to say they're more comfortable and have lasted longer than any long boots I've had. You can also just use the short boots as everyday shoes so you get two for price of one! No particular website recommendations. Just a matter of shopping about. Also try eBay for second hand.

My DH wears mountain horse high riders and finds them comfortable for walking. They are more than £100 but you can find them nearly new on ebay. Alternatively ariat short boots (the ones that look like trainers) are often cheap on equestrian clearance but my DH won't wear short boots.

If he has smallish feet he will find women's boots cheaper but they tend to stop at an 8.5 and have a shorter leg.

Finally if he would fancy the men's version of ariat grassmeres and doesn't mind stretching the budget send me a PM I have an unworn pair to sell.
