I have Le Mieux and PE half pads and much prefer the Le Mieux ones. Having said that I follow the instructions I was given by a Horse Health (who sell the Le Mieux pads) for both. Before putting the pad in the washing machine I smother them in cheapo human hair conditioner and then wash them in the washing machine on a 30o wool wash using a non biological liquid detergent. Air dry, don't use a tumble drier.

Wool wash, in machine on 30 degree wool cycle. Came up like new. Air dry on airer.
