For those that don't know, Merlin is nearly 4yo welsh d.
Today was his first experience of long reining
He is perfect to tack up, no problem, so had a headcollar on under the bridle for him to be led from at the same time as me walking behind with the long reins.
Bless him he was very good
but though he's used to all his tack and boots rugs etc he was not too sure about the lunge reins touching his back leg and kept trying to run away from it!
So after about 5mins (on each rein) of him trying his best to run away from something that he couldn't escape from he calmed down and relaxed, dropped his head down and walked nicely

And we left it at that for his first time but was quite pleased with him
