Well I made the decision to take Merlin back to my old yard last weekend.... he needs 24/7 turnout as he has arthritis... so back we went!!!
Only to discover that he hates his new stable... keeps running round staring out of the windows and pawing up the bedding, half rearing and generally being an arse!!!
At last I had some time today to do the little jobs like name plates and his mirror.... you would not believe the difference!! In the last yard he didnt even seem to notice it was there, but then he had three other horses to look at, so I suppose didnt need it..... but in this yard the horses are all out all day so he cant see anyone, he does only come in for a danilon laced feed twice a day, and to give his belly a rest for a couple of hours as there is loads of grass.... But as soon as I put it up he was calmer and stood next to it staring at himself!!
So I suppose they do work after all... I was beginning to wonder if had been a waste of money!!
