Okay, here's my boy's latest hairdo. It's meant to make him look more macho...that and keeps the food from building up in his ears. Haven't taken enough off his body yet, but will when I have more time in January. But the ears were driving me bonkers!

Hubby hates it...I love this trim (called a German trim) but it tends to look a bit better with a docked tail, so was hesitant to do it for that reason alone as his tail is long and curls round.

Whatchu guys think? As a general dog owning population (and some groomers too) ;)

I prefer the German trim when the body is taken down more Kerry Blue like.

I don't like the proportions as it stands.

Thanks NN...and S4sugar, you are quite right - he's not in proportion. His body needs lots more trimmed off but I'll not have time til the xmas rush is over. I'm sort of growing the legs in more so that I can leave more on the back of the front legs and visa versa, more on the front of the back legs so I can narrow the gap between them so that he doesn't look so long in the body. At the moment he looks loaded in the shoulder and no elegance to the lines. But I do like the start of it so far (ears/tail clipped) but the tail is harder to get used to. Numpty dog noticed it about 6 hours after it'd been clipped off and chased his tail! LOL as if to say "what'd you do wtih my POM???"

Oh, fab, he looks odd with no ears:D, but I understand why, Im awaiting me new scissors so I have do the poodle I have in (rescue) im not a huge poodle dooer, I dislike doing them but will if I have too.

one groomer to another it's very nice. My std poodle bitch is black but I keep her quite short. I don't have the time or patience for a fab coat like yours. She has pom pom ears though which my little terrier loves swinging off.:D
