....... What goes on the the yard that used to be the equine unit, before the smart stables and indoor arena were built?

Just curious really - Looking for livery and the location of MW would be ideal! ;-)




 
Nothing. It's empty and the 2 arenas up there aren't used either.

It's by the animal care unit and I dropped a neighbour up there for college a year or so ago.

Such a shame as I really liked the set up.
 
When i was there for 5 years (left 2009) the top yard was kept as a livery yard for a couple of the tutor's horses and student horses. There was only 5 or 6 kept there. It's predominantly is or was used during the lambing season.
 
I was at Merrist Wood 1980.
The Golf course was fields for the cattle and maise production.
The Equine Arena was the PIG farm and cattle/milking area with the Prize hereford bull called OXO.
The top area were the staff kept their horses was were i spent my life in the nursery training to be a Hardy plant Propagator and the area around was for stock beds and Tree production.

Thirty years ago merrist wood had only 5 Courses
