Dear NED Member
Further to recent announcements, the facility to add your horse's freezemark or microchip number to NED is now live. In order to do this, log on, select the freezemarked or microchipped horse in myHorses, select "Edit" and click on "Identification Information" to upload this information. Make sure that you have the correct numbers to hand first and re-check them carefully before you press "Update".
If you have not already associated yourself with your horses, please select your own equine/s and click "Associate yourself with this equine".
In some cases, we have received freezemark and microchip information from Passport Issuing Organisations, but in many cases, we have not. Adding this information will help NED be of use in tracing stolen horses or horses missing on loan.
With best wishes
The NED Team

Yes, well here we go again... Just been on there to put one of my horse's freezemark numbers on, only to find that they already have an (incorrect) freezemark number for him, as supplied by the passport issuer.

I have four horses which they won't associate me with, because the passport issuer hasn't put my postcode on the passports. The fact that my address matches in all other respects clearly isn't enough (and yes, I emailed them weeks ago with all the amendments, but they haven't been made yet)

I'm having exactly the same problem

I emailed them weeks ago because my horse is with the old British equestrian Database, the information on him has been uploaded onto the NED however the problem is I reverted to my maiden name when I got divorced about 5 years ago - but I cannot change my name on my horses passport as the BED no longer exists. So I wrote and asked NED how I can associate myself with my own horse. Needless to say they have not bothered to respond. Anyone have any suggestions how I associate him with me?

You need to contact your PIO not NED. They can only upload official DATA from PIO's. They also have only three people uploading and amending info, so need time to deal with everything.

I'd love to use this facility, but my pony isnt even on NED yet despite me repeatedly emailing them about him.

Likewise, neither is one of mine.

It took about a month to get a response from them about it, but still, he's not on there.

USELESS!

My friend has an IHB passported horse - all genuine and correct - but, the horse is not on NED. The IHB are not on the list of 'subscribers'.

So how do you check your horse on NED if it happens to be on the IHB?

NED is total waste of time from what I've heard so far. I know they want all the info on there but couldn't they amend what is currently incorrect instead of giving themselves more work to do esp if there are only 3 people inputting data!
