Is there any way which I could help to speed up my horses metabolism? Really think it could do with a boost, despite all dietry changes, workload etc. the weight is really taking it's time to come off. Also, it seems to not at all be shifting from her neck (crest). Although it's there, it's really quite soft and squidgy. This is probably my only niggle, she's fine everywhere else (no apple bum, feel her ribs very easily and if I'm lucky they make an appearance)
Any suggestions welcomed!
(sorry for any spelling mistakes - very tired!)

Metabolic rate is very unlikely to change and a fast metaboliser does not automatically lose weight in any case. Metabolism and weight are not as closely linked as that - best way to help weight loss is exactly the same as us human beasts - less calories and more exercise - some types always seem to have cresty necks this doesnt necessarily mean there is a problem if everything else is ok then dont worry - just be aware that as the grass grows you may get a calorie surge so you may have to restrict intake of grass - common sense really

hope this helps
