Metacam is a brand name for the generic drug meloxicam.

Loxicom, Meloxidyl and Inflacam are also brand names for meloxicam.

I think if you asked your vet to prescribe meloxicam you should be able to order an alternative if there are supply issues with Metacam.

My vets can only get hold of the tiny 15ml bottles of Inflacam, they say nothing else has been available since Brexit.

There’s been a metacam shortage for some time - from what I remember their factory in Brazil (?!) had to close for sometime due to COVID.

Note re written prescriptions, some online pharmacy’s won’t take generic drug names just brand names. Don’t ask me why, that’s backwards to me! Also the other meloxicam alternatives don’t necessarily come in 180mls so maybe find their sizes and then get the prescription.

I had no issue sourcing loxicom which is the same thing.
