apart from ebay does anyone know where i can get fairly cheap ones from?

i mean the big oblong ones so i can put rugs in one and feed in the other.

on a working farm with lots of nice stuff to feed rats and mice - but still they insist on my feed and chewing my rugs!!

I've looked about for a while trying to locate galvanised bins at a reasonable price but without any luck. They are extremely expensive wherever you look. I have resigned myself to keeping feed in dustbins.

The cheapest large storage bins I can think of are old chest freezers. They are readily available & will hold all your rugs & are rat proof.

midland holloware online sell metal dustbins with lids, about 15 pounds each i think plus 7 pound delivery, but if u have more than 1 its still 7 pounds delivery. thay are also on ebay , galvanised bins.

I've seen a post here where people are using garden storage boxes/chests for storing rugs etc.
Think they are the ones designed to store garden furniture cushions - should be a cheaper option.
I keep my feed in plastic bins which work well (and are much easier to move about than the galvanised bins)

You might try your local recycling centre (the location formerly known as the tip). Think flexibly - they won't have feed bins but perhaps old metal filing cabinets for your rugs? Or a tin trunk?
