So after much messing about with tack & bits we've finally got the pony out of his waterford 3 ring gag & into a full cheek snaffle with lozenge but due to his forever crossing his jaw have took off the flash & got a Mexican noseband.

He usually wears a cob size bridle so I got that size noseband, but now I have a problem - it fits lovely, in the correct place apart from the part that fastens at his mouth - the buckle fastens right on his lips!

I've tried adjusting the rest of it to see if it will make a difference, but then the cheek rings are way too low. The strap under his cheeks are on the last (smallest fitting) hole but the mouth strap bit is on the 1st hole.

I was thinking a full size might help but then thought it would then be way too big on the upper part of his face.

Any ideas anyone?? I'll try & take a pic later on - thanks xxx

Have a similar problem with mine, if the straps fit around his nose & cheek the rings are to low if the rings are correct nothing fits anywhere else. If I drop him to a cob size the rings are correct but the straps wont do up at all. Have resolved to use full size but have the cheek piece shortened so the rings are correct. Confused?? I certainly am on reading this back! :D

Cheers for that!!! Think I get it - get a full size & stick some more holes in the straps coming off the rings - is that right??!! I wondered if that might make the rings move too far back off his cheek bones (if you get what I mean lol!!!) :D xx
