Does anyone know what Michael Whitaker other rein is attached to? one is on the Pelham roundings but what about the other one?

I don't think there's a second rein there. If you google other images of him and Cassionato, he's riding in a Pelham with a single rein attached to the roundings. I think what looks like the second rein in this pic is actually a combination of the left rein, the shadow of the right rein on the horse's neck and buckle-end of the reins as they loop down the right side of his neck. Does that make sense?
