Hello everyone
I’ve recently started going bitless with my mare and have been using a friends micklem as a side pull. She mentioned to me there were other options like a chin strap and a cross strap that she has if I would like to try. I’ve used the bridle as a side pull mainly out hacking and find she is far more relaxed. Brought her into the school and she tends to need a bit of help to work round and engage her hind end so did find she was a little hollow but way more responsive to my body and voice aids than with a bit.
Has anyone tried the other options? How did you find them?
I’m happy to keep using a side pull set up but just curious about the above!
