Micklem Bridle with Bit Guards?

Hi everyone. I have recently started riding my mare in a new Micklem Bridle because other bridles annoy the nerves in her face, but I noticed that the corners of her mouth are rubbing. Does anyone have any advice on what
I can do to help her feel more comfortable. I tried a bit guard but the nose-band part of the Micklem squeezes the guard.

Switch to a bit that isn’t loose ring?

My mare doesn't responded to anything but a french link loose ring.

Buy one with smaller rings?, is the bit in the correct place as in is it too high or low in the mouth that could cause it to rub so can the incorrect size.

My mare is in between a 5 amd 5.5 bit size. I think the one that she has now is a 5.25, but I can double check. The bridle is adjusted so that she barely has more than a wrinkle on either side of the bit.
