Does anyone else have issues getting bits to fit with the micklem? I brought a new snaffle and the rings are larger than the old one. I would say they are normal size, but the old snaffle has much smaller rings. I can't get the straps that attach the bit any higher and if I do the cheek piece up any more it will not be sitting in the right place to miss the nerves.
I have seen this issue on both my horses so am I doing something wrong or is this a common issue?
The horses are both around 15 hand, normally in cob bridles and have the standard horse micklem.

My Micklem came with two different lengths for bit straps. The longer ones fit well for snaffles and the shorter ones would be more for like hanging cheeks etc but I guess would work for bigger rings?
