Micklem & Myler?

I have been riding my horse in a Micklem bridle which seems to fit him well. I now want to try a Myler bit (baucher, MB 32, ie mullen mouth with independent side movement), because this seems to be the sort he would go well in.
Myler state their bits are for use with only a cavesson noseband (except the combination bits of course).
I wonder whether this bit and bridle are incompatible due to the Micklem's built-in drop noseband (which is done up loosely in my case for hacking, and a hole tighter when we go somewhere more exciting!)

I ride Jazzy in an MB02 hanging cheek (baucher) with a grakle noseband - he seems to be fine.

You can always try it and see what happens!

I have a micklem bridle and use a myler hanging cheek comfort snaffle on my mare! I do love my micklem bridle!

The Mylers only approve of cavasson nosebands, as there bitting phlosophy is that, if the bit suits the horse and rider, no noseband is needed, and the cavason is the only noseband that isnt designed to be cranked up tight, to fix the jaw!
I've spent time with Dale Myler, and the first thing he does on a bitting clinic, is remove nosebands, as they mask whats happening, esp when tight.

Mylers like all other bits can be used with any noseband.

Ah ha I think I have a solution for you - I ride in a Micklem and you can do the noseband up as a cavesson as well as a drop!! Which I now do I hadn't realised before - it was when I saw a friend doing this with her Micklem bridle that I realised it is possible and it does up just fine behind the bit.
