What size would you get for a 14.2 Connie with a very large head?

His bridle is full and headcollar is cob but on the last couple of holes.

He has a very large cheek but narrows at the nose so his bridle fits but his noseband could do with being slightly smaller for it to fit better. He also broad across the top of his face.

He also takes a 6" in bits if that makes any difference at all?

Father Christmas is being kind this year as I have been a very good girl. :D

in all honestly - i have no idea :o they are a v odd fit!

the full is small round the nose on my mare (last holes on everything) but long (top holes!) she's usually a pretty true FS

you can hire them so may be worth a try then you know you'll get the closest to a best fit.

tbh i'm having mine adapted by my saddler to fit better

I'd be inclined to say a standard horse size, if she's 14.2 with a very large head. They are slightly squiffy sizing but my 16.2 who has a very petite head is in standard horse size. I don't think it's that they're always bigger or smaller than standard sizes, they just feel a bit odd in terms of proportions because as ^^^, you can be on top holes length wise but last holes on the width-wise stuff!

My 18hh horse with a breezeblock head has the standard full- he is on the last 2 or 3 holes on most of the buckles.

I think the micklem would also fit my 15.3hh tb on the tighter holes so no idea for your pony, sorry!

Is his head long or thick? If thick I'd go for standard horse, if long and narrow I'd try the smaller one.

I would say his head is thick. Everyone is really shocked when they realise how big his head is because he actually looks like a well put together pony in terms of proportions but actually, his head is rather large bess him! :D

May try the hire website as suggested because they seem to be like gold dust in tack shops and only available on line.

My 14.3 Welsh D x TB has a standard horse which fits him really well. My friend has a 14hh Highland x and cant get a micklem to fit her - she would need bits from most of the different sizes to get a bridle that fits!
