Ah hero,

I am going to purchase a micklem bridle for my 15.3 tb mare with a cob sized head. The micklem have different sizing, what size would I need to aim for? Standard horse or small horse? I don't want to buy the wrong one.

My 16.2 is in a standard horse which would be far too big for our 15.2 tb, so I would go for a small horse for your mare.

My cobby 15.2 and 15 hands both wear a standard horse.

I had to get a bigger browband and have a longer strap put on the back of the nose for the smaller boy

My 15h TB type is in Standard Horse which fits her perfectly. The next size down wouldn't go near her!

My 14.1 TB is in a small horse. 15.2 bucket headed mare, and 16.2 TB are both in standard horses.

The sizing just isn't straightforward is it! I have my cobby 14.2 in a standard horse and my OH's 15.1 heavyweight cob is also in a standard horse (but has a noseband extender). The 15hh Connie is in a small horse. I think it can be trial and error to some extent!
