its a long story but ive ended up buying a bag of this stuff, does it send horses bonkers if they arent in hard (racing) work and if they are spooky does it make them worse? I have emailed the makers to see what they say...
If its the one with a racing driven horse on it. I fed it to my lazy cob and it made no difference. the man in the shop said if this doesn't work you need a bullet.
It's very high energy (and prob high starch) and used for horses in hard work/racehorses- Years ago i used to feed it to my jumping pony and it gave her plenty of energy as she was in hard work and competing regularly- i would feed something much simpler to a horse in lighter work though!
If your horse is spooky, feed won't change their actual temperament but too much of the wrong feeds may bring out qualities you don't require ie spookiness etc- a slow release/high fibre feed may be better of a horse is prone to be being and bit sharp and hot!
