Microchip question

If you don't have the petlog book thing then you have to ring them with chip number to update. But do you not need to provide proof that you are the new owner or anything? I guess if a horse was stolen the petlog people would know so it would flag on their system if anyone tried to change chip details? They don't automatically update with passport update? Sorry confused up!

If you phone petlog they will tell you if the chip is registered with them or not.
If it is, they will contact the previous owner. If not, reply after 30 days the paperwork will be sent to you for transfer of details.
