Microchipping...

oh don't, I was well and truly ripped off by our vet! I paid around £85 for them to come out and passport pony, came out and microchipped then a couple of weeks later, instead of expected passport, received passport application for me to send in WITH PAYMENT to get passport along with pet log form for me to send in and register my details. I was furious, queried with vet but she insisted that was how they did it. So, callout is about £35 meaning microchip cost me about £50!!

we took ours to vet was £20 but if they come out £25 for call out then £20 for chip. so £45. if you have a chip and he is just putting it in £10 but still call out charge. got 12 done this year, thats why we took them to vet, saved £300 on no call outs, as had to get done diferent times. so we just had to pay £20 for each qas our society supplied chips.
oh is he has to draw up chart for markings £20 again, so £65 totoal, chip chart and call out. this is in northern ireland

In Germany the Hanoverian Society where the microchipping is done by properly trained people not vets there is no charge and it is done when the horse is branded. Vets are not pleased.
