microchipping

Hi, where do people get their dogs microchipped? My vet wants to charge just under £27.00 which seems such a lot.

i got mine done at a rspca fete for free,i have the paperwork through the post and can upgrade my pack to get text alerts/emails if he is lost for £10 a year.it is with PET ID.

^^ We buy then by the hundreds but if we where to chip an individual dog for someone we would charge about £10. We don't we just chip every rescue.
£27.00 seems alot for a chip.
